Carja Sundom continues to suffer from the Bloody Red Raids, a brutal campaign of attacks and ritual sacrifice that the Carja inflicts on its neighboring tribes. These raids, which ruined countless lives, came to an end when the insane Sun King Geeran was overthrown by his son Avadh.
The aftershocks of Jiran’s rule divided the Carja tribe, with those grateful for the end of his rule remaining in Sundom, and soldiers loyal to the slain chief made their way to the castle in Sunfall, where they reformed as Carja in Shadow.

Guerrilla’s studio narrative director, Ben McCaw, gave us a little more insight: “Bryas ended up on the wrong side for the right reasons. His family was torn apart and, in the end, he was imprisoned. This is the story of how he tries to come back from that.”

Along the way, players will meet new characters and reunite with familiar ones, though his past has affected these relationships, Ben explains. “Having fought for Shadow Carja, Ryas’ relationship with these characters is at best antagonistic. He needs to make progress and make amends if he hopes to be accepted.”

Known for her sharp wit and quick temper, Hami resents the task of accompanying Rias. Her hatred of what Rias stands for is just one of the challenges he will face.
