At the beginning of 2023, Twitch streamer MissMikkaa appears Newspaper headlines beaten Sheikh’s ringThe infamous mold queen, Malenia, is the Blade of Miquella, with two completely different controllers at the same time. It was a ridiculous feat of ingenuity and focus, but do you think that gameplay was the way it finished FromSoftware’s all-new Soulslike? Well, it turns out that MissMikka has been embarking on what she’s dubbed the Ultimate Challenge Run, and now that she’s wrapped up Sheikh’s ringIt does the same with Dark Souls Remastered.
Challenge runs are nothing new within the FromSoft community. my city Report a lot of wild animals, from using a drawing board to Playing the electronic saxophone. MissMikkaa, however, is probably the most intense one-minute challenge I’ve seen playing two versions of FromSoft’s game simultaneously with two different types of controller inputs: a DDR-compatible dancepad and a PlayStation 5 DualSense. This is the basis of the Ultimate Challenge Race. As MissMikkaa specifies in its live stream overlays, the goal is to “kill bosses in the same attempt in both game states” using two different controllers. my city I met up with MissMikkaa to make up her mind about playing FromSoft games in a strange and challenging way.
This takes a lot of focus to pull off
MissMikkaa explained the process of setting up the Ultimate Challenge Run incl Dance board model She’s using. After connecting the dance board to her computer, she used remapper JoyToKey To synchronize the pad movement arrows with the WASD keys, with other buttons that perform actions such as attack, evade, heal, and the like. Despite this, the dancepad has a limited number of buttons, so it sometimes has to “profile specific bosses or scenarios” to switch between encounters before encounters like the one with Rickard, Lord of Blasphemy. But aside from tuning the dance-board keybinds, this “Ultimate Challenge Run” challenged MissMikkaa in several other ways.
“In the beginning, I had a really hard time concentrating on playing two games at once. It’s not easy trying to position your character and attack, dribble and heal twice as much as I used to,” says MissMikkaa my city. “There were a few days when I felt mentally exhausted from the amount of work my brain was doing, but the more I ran, the more I got used to it. Physically, it wasn’t much different from the previous sessions I’d done, and luckily I was already used to my sessions. 6-Hour Dance Board. Halfway through this run, there were definitely a few moments of smooth sailing, but towards the end, things definitely got a little more difficult, and that was also partially used as motivation for me.”
G/O Media may earn a commission
MissMikka says it was difficult to stay focused during the entire race. Play FromSoft, be it bloodborne or AxeIt can really seem like an insurmountable challenge that requires a lot of focus. These are punishment games, after all! Adding a second layer on top – that is, playing another instance of the same game but using a separate console at the same time – increases the level of difficulty you will experience when playing and the focus required. Gravity pretty much killed her, because she “lost her track.” [her] The character’s attitude and instead focused more on attacking and dodging.” But the navigation has improved over time.
The bosses were equally challenged
As you might expect with a FromSoft game, bosses were a particularly sore spot for this “Ultimate Challenge Run”. MissMikka says she died about 198 times for Malinia and her longsword alone. do not compare Level 1 Dance Board Play She returns in October, dying over 500 times to the Goddess, but still points to Malinia as a real test.
“Malinia was by far the hardest coach in this race,” admits MissMikkaa. It’s a real test of skill and experience in most challenge rounds. Killing Malenia was a lot of trial and error in terms of figuring out which build I wanted to use and only trying to survive when I got two waterfowl jigs at the same time. But besides the obvious answer, I ran into a lot “Having trouble with Margit for getting out of the ring. I was also struggling a lot with Mohg, specifically with his second stage transition because I didn’t use any in-game items like Mog’s Shackle or the Purifying Crystal Tear.”
Adding to the difficulty was that she forbade herself from using certain equipment. MissMikka says that not only did she try “not to use any weapons or war ashes that could be considered ‘OP’ either, but she also couldn’t summon anyone or use any of the soul ashes in battle.
It was just her, the enemies before her, and my entrance ruled her. That’s it. In addition to these self-imposed limitations, MissMikka explains that she has relegated herself to certain types of character building, starting with an emphasis on strength in the beginning before shifting to arcane in the late game. Thankfully her favorite gear – bleed like weapons The great hammer of the great stars And high defense shields like Bull-Goat groupHelp ease the restrictions a bit by letting them “spread out.” [a boss’] Damage balance in order to hit them with their attacks.” She’s a tank. Of course, since she’s playing two versions of the same game, she’s forced equipment parity between her character.
Giving up this wasn’t in the cards
No matter how challenging Miss Mecca’s Ultimate Challenge Run was, she promised she’d “never consider giving up.” The difficulty was a big reason for her motivation to finish the challenge. She found herself adjusting to the process after each live broadcast, and once she arrived youngMissMikkaa, who is already an elective boss for the final game, said she is “very confident” that she can take down the Mold Queen along with the game’s many other brutal enemies.
“The easiest part of this tour is keeping my motivation up the whole time,” MissMikka explains. “It was a fun challenge and I enjoyed every aspect of learning and mastering it. I love finding new ways to challenge myself, especially in Sheikh’s ring. This idea wasn’t seriously considered at first, but when I found myself with an extra capture card in my streaming PC, I started thinking to myself, “What would happen if I played two games at once?” At first, I wasn’t sure if the challenge was possible at first, and neither were the people around me. But I was curious as to how far I could go. I have to say… I’ve never had so many people come up and question my sanity like I did during that run.”
I mean, I question Miss Mika’s sanity, too. It’s hard to get into FromSoft’s prime arena on just one platform. Doing it twice, at the same time, with one of your controllers being a slippery bath mat, and still triumphantly swooping in makes me jealous of her skills and the thrill of her accomplishments. Talk about “getting good.”
Miss Mika tells us it’s over Sheikh’s ring Around January 8, he performs Play all the memories Which requires you to beat FromSoft by defeating all the bosses that get rid of the consumables”Boss souls. Since then, she’s been flipping through games on Twitch, like prophesied And The Witcher 3: Wild Huntwhile embarking on another “Ultimate Challenge Run” game in Dark Souls Remastered. At one point, she said she wanted to play Sheikh’s ring with “real guitar”, where verbs such as attack and heal are strung on whole chords instead of just individual chords. May God help her.
